Jointly Exhibiting: Melitta Perry & Michaela Laurie
Melitta Perry: 'Threads & Tails'
'Threads & Tails' is inspired by spaces of quiet contemplation and stillness, where daydreams infiltrate the present. The works explore how memory and imagination fill the space between thoughts and the cryptic nature of dreams and the sub-conscious - where unusual connections from memory and imagination, culture and myth converge upon the landscape.
Melitta Perry is an Australian artist based in the Northern Rivers of New South Wales. Her paintings take inspiration from poetry, literature, and myth, particularly those which contain Australian vernacular. She has been a finalist in the prestigious Glover Prize, Ravenswood Art Prize, and Calleen Art Award.
Michaela Laurie: 'Brief Encounters'
Presenting Michaela Laurie's new body of work 'Brief Encounters' at Manyung Gallery Malvern.
Lets engage you with Michaela's art, as she turns her attention to combining beautiful antique porcelain with enchanting birds who visit her garden throughout the year. She reflects the quiet, gentle, and contemplative aspects of both the antiques and the bird bringing together these whimsical arrangements. Michaela creates magical artworks by combining the things she loves - with the creature she loves. A little whimsy is always thrown in just for fun.
