This Superb Parrot sits serenely upon a beautiful Chinese porcelain jar in a gorgeous emerald green with orange iron central decoration.
We aren’t visited by Superb Parrots in our garden, but we do have one living in our home! Well not exactly living. My husband’s grandfather collected birds on the Townsville Common during the early 20th century when this was a hobby. The cabinets could be bought from a catalogue and were then filled with animals and birds which had been taxidermized. Not something we would even think of doing today. We now own the cabinet where he displayed his birds - and while you may think this is slightly creepy, it is a truly fascinating cabinet. Especially for someone like me who loves to study birds."
