"Exploring displacement – the exotic finding a way to live in a new environment. The peacocks brought along to replicate far away places – to keep them close. Diaspora. The peacocks juxtaposed to the Sturts desert pea – establishing new relationships. Inspired by field trip in the desert where the homestead sported a pair of peacocks – plonked into the middle of the out back – the green grassy lawn a tiny island in the vast red dirt sea."
