"This remarkable blue ground bowl is highly decorated with flowers and foliage in the Famille Rose Style on egg-shell porcelain. It is from the Qianlong period of 1735 - 1796. It fetched a remarkable $624,000 HKD early in 2024 in Hong Kong. The blue ground is a delight as are the flowers and buds and white lattice background.
The flowers have decided to grow further out of the bowl and are visited by a curious and inquisitive male Superb Blue Wren. These delightful birds visit our Australian country garden in their family groups throughout the year flitting amongst the shrubs, flowers and grape vines and hopping across the grass. The brightly coloured males always seem to be outnumbered by the delicate pale brown (but equally as beautiful) female birds. The twitter and sing to each other throughout the day and are always a joy."
