Our big Australian skies and their ever changing moods play out in an epic drama in
Min-Woo Bang's phenominal skies.
Although wild, dramatic and emotionally loaded these paintings are executed with the finess of an old master.
He has a wonderfully assured technique where brushmarks have been soothed so far into the paint they have sunk into the comfort of invisability.
As part of the Manyung Gallery stable Min-Woo Bang was selected as a finalist for the prestigious John Leslie Art prize 2020. He has been a finalist in many Australian art prizes and is represented in many collections nationally and internationally.
Min-Woo Bang was born in Seoul, Korea in 1971and lives in NSW. Before migrating to Australia he studied for 3 years in a high school specialising in visual arts education. Min-Woo gained a Diploma of Fine Arts from National Art School (1993) and graduated from Sydney College of the Arts, Sydney University, BVA (Hon) and MVA(1994-1999).
Min-Woo Bang has participated in many group shows and has held 35 solo exhibitions.
