"My intention with this painting was to capture the sense of these beautiful birds in shady spots as day breaks.
Painting the spring blossoms in pre-dawn allows me to use spontaneous, expressionistic strokes. These add texture and movement to the paintings, they also guide the eye to the more detailed birds"
