Annalisa Lawrence

Annalisa Lawrence Biography

Annalisa Lawrence, also known as Saltwater Woman, uses her unique and intuitive approach as an artist to create unforgettable images. Drawing inspiration from her travels, coastal lifestyle, and personal experiences, Annalisa's evocative and free art style is reflected in her mixed media pieces. Her signature aesthetic, instantly recognizable for its texture, calming hues, and visually appealing compositions, features figures by the seaside, women surfing and emphasizes the relaxed nature of a coastal lifestyle.

Annalisa's figurative approach is restrained, embodying the wabi sabi philosophy, with attention to light and form. Her paintings reflect themes of Harmony with nature and one another, conveying a deeper emotional connection to the subject matter. Through her work, she chronicles her experiences as a mother, surfer, and traveller, creating stripped back images that suggest something inherent in the human condition binds us all together.

Annalisa has been featured in numerous galleries and art fairs nationally, with collectors across Australia, Europe, and the USA. Her unique images have been showcased in magazines and interior design publications across Australia, including Art Edit, Swell, Belle and Inside Out Magazine. As an artist, Annalisa is committed to the process of creating by honouring the energetic direction of what's within. She believes that the adventure is in the process and continues to push the boundaries of her artistic expression.
