Manyung Gallery Malvern presents John Lendis “Luminescence”.
In this series, Lendis explores our relationship with the natural world, our interior and exterior self. The exquisite detail in his works produces an emotional connection to the viewer and his subjects, highlighting the physical environment in which his subject inhabits and emotional landscape they invoke. By using rich oils, and playing with varied light and shadow, he creates dream like scenes that transfix the viewer.

“I have dual nationality in England and Australia: my heart beats in two places. My work is often about this movement – somewhere between the poignancy and sweet sadness of leaving, and the excitement of arriving; juxtapositions of various countries of memories and mythologies, myths, metamorphoses and melancholia.”
