Craig Penny returns to Manyung Gallery Sorrento with Life’s a Beach, a stunning new solo exhibition celebrating the beauty, rhythm and atmosphere of coastal life. Known for his evocative beaches, boats and seascapes, Craig once again brings the Mornington Peninsula to life through vibrant acrylics and his signature loose, expressive brushwork.
This exhibition features over 30 new original paintings, including a selection of special works inspired by Craig’s recent travels to the Greek Islands. These pieces sit harmoniously alongside his beloved Peninsula vistas, offering a refreshing blend of Mediterranean light and local shoreline charm.
In Life’s a Beach, Craig highlights the shifting glow of coastal light with sunsets that intensify the horizon, boats drifting across calm bays and shorelines alive with the quiet rituals of daily life. His layered paintwork and dynamic mark-making create a sense of movement, energy and emotional depth in every scene.
“I am drawn to water, but I am also drawn to the landscape. I love observing how the colours shift as the sun drops lower and how everything becomes sharper and more dramatic. I enjoy the challenge in every subject and I like my paintings to have energy, to show the movement and emotion in each brushstroke.”
Please join us to celebrate Craig’s newest collection of coastal inspired works, an exhibition that captures the Peninsula at its most serene and radiant.
