We're excited to invite you to the opening of Mellissa Read-Devine's solo exhibition, "Walk With the Landscape" at Manyung Gallery Strathmore.
The natural world is very important to Mellissa, which comes through in her captivating artworks.
"I wish the viewer to be transported into the imagery I have created," says Mellissa. "If it is a landscape, maybe visually wander around and feel uplifted and entranced by colours and shapes that I have been inspired to depict. If it's bird/animal life, then see them as characters in a story I have set the scene for, with the viewer being the writer of that story."
It is evident Read-Devine finds the act of creating necessary, you can feel a spiritual and harmonious energy from her paintings.
