Please join us throughout September and October in an exploration of our Earth's beautiful natural forces within the stunning artworks of Lynne Bickhoff & Jennyfer Stratman.
In this new exhibition, we explore the perception of our world, both the natural and the cosmic. As we navigate our way through continuous lockdowns and the hardships attached, Lynne and Jennyfer have looked outward and upward to seek refuge in the enviornment.
Jennyfer says of her latest work, “The inspiration for this exhibition is derived from my continued interest in the interconnectedness of all things from the sub-atomic to the galactic.
The long periods in lockdown allowed time to further contemplate these themes and delve into scientific theories, such as string theory, which help explain these intuitive connections. Paired with self-reflection and meditation, the work draws upon the importance of what is unseen - love, the nature of consciousness and the mechanisms of life that make up our very existence.
This body of work uses three-dimensional gestural line drawings to reference the invisible strings that bind us together. The non-linear shapes, coupled with botanical and figurative elements give a rhythmic sense of our ever-changing existence.”
While we unfortunately cannot be open to the public due to current lockdown restrictions, Jennyfer's stunning sculptures have been installed and are on display at our Malvern Gallery - if you're in the area and walking past on your way to grab a coffee, make sure to check the windows to view the exhibition in person!
