"My paintings speak of the precious moments we take out to connect with nature. I’ve always felt that I belong here on the Mornington Peninsula, but this body of work which I painted last year, has intensified that feeling. I explored my own back yard more intensely because of restrictions due to COVID and the result has been very satisfying. This is where I’m meant to be.”
This vibrant collection of new paintings from Stewart feature three distinct feelings; The wildness of the back beaches between Flinders and Cape Schanck; The shape, texture and colour of the hinterland; And the space, silence and calm of Westernport.
