Conchita's vibrant, expressive abstract paintings have been a long-time staple here at Manyung, and are inspired by the Australian landscape and Conchita's own person experiences in life.
"Living in changing times over the last year due to the pandemic has, I think, made a significant difference in the way we are all interacting with each other. I feel that we've all gotten lost for a little while with busy lives and not paying attention to others. As I painted this new series of works, I was reminded of how quickly things forced us to change and how quickly as people we adapted.
As an artist, I unconsciously felt nothing could touch me in my little studio with my music, dogs, cooking and gardening. But the effects of the pandemic did touch me, and I think the work has reflected that. I feel that more than ever, we can all stand on mountains and conquer anything when we stand together with love, kindness, tolerance and understanding."
