Manyung Gallery is excited to present a brand new series of artworks from Lynne Bickhoff!

Known for her stunning abstract paintings of towering trees and vast forest landscapes, Lynne has once again perfectly captured the diverse colours and forms of the Gippsland region in Victoria in her latest series of works. 

"My studio, which is located in a beautiful country area of Victoria is my sanctuary. Set on acreage, it allows me the space to create and gives me inspiration right outside the studio window. This location has a huge impact on my art practice as I feel that the surrounding landscape has immediate references to my work. I’m obsessed with landscapes in all its varied forms and find that each one has a unique quality or even a spirit.

I’ve found that since the pandemic my palette has ‘softened’ into very soothing colours. The very subject of my work has the effect of calming me personally and I’m finding that the works are also reflecting that. My painted skies are softer, the trees whilst they still have the strength of line and tone to reflect resilience also have an overlay of delicacy in the leaves and tendrils that drape over the trunks and branches. I find this juxtaposition of strength and delicacy both reassuring and pleasing."
