Barbara Tyson’s latest show ‘A Masterful Exhibition’ will transport you into another world filled with snapshots of life’s fleeting moments. This latest body of work includes moments of deep contemplation, the passion of dance, the movement of crowds and the pleasure of water. As the winner of the 2016 ANL Maritime Art Award - water is certainly a subject matter that Tyson has mastered, the same could also be said for the human figure with multiple finalist works in both the Archibald Prize and the Doug Moran.
In this exhibition Tyson has pushed herself technically – striving to recreate movement blurring colours, the fall and folding of material and what Tyson is mostly known for - light reflecting off bodies in water. This exhibition not only shows off Tyson’s artistic technique but her beautiful use of colour and her dreamy views of what our world looks like from the deep blue.
