“One of the beautiful paradoxes of art is that through the intimately personal, art can become universal” Daniel Levitin (Neuroscientist, Musician, Author)

The inspiration for this exhibition comes from a contemplation of the origin and transformation of the universe and our place within this history.

Over billions of years, newly created matter cooled and combined under the force of gravity to form the stars and planets we know today.

The creative process used for this exhibition involved experimentation at the foundry using splashed molten bronze. The random forms born from this practice have been welded and grouped together to create shapes reminiscent of constellations, planets and nebula.

The figurative element is a continued thread that draws on my personal narrative and our interconnectedness with each other and the cosmos.
