“The woman is drawn in charcoal line and based on women of
the 1940’s and 50’s. She has long eyelashes and big lips and she is iconic of her time. The pattern is hand drawn, with the figure
drawn in charcoal afterwards. I love the abstract qualities that this gives to my work, with the patterns appearing across the face and through the hair. I always work in oils and use washes, applying paint using a palette knife to achieve textured affects.” - Monica Adams, 2014
Official Opening 6 - 8pmThursday 13 November.
Exhibition to be officially launched at 7pm by Dr Shaun Wilson, Senior Lecturer - RMIT University.
Monica will also speak about her remarkable techniques and new series.
