About the Artists:

Living and painting in Sherbrooke rainforest, my landscapes depict many of the distinct elements of the surrounding environment. Balancing the qualities of realism and impressionism my work explores the composition of organic light and texture, together with weather and ecological variations. As a consequence of residing in this unique and contrasting location, my art frequently details the fleeting moments I encounter.

I have developed my technique and style through practice and repetition.  I paint principally in oils, with occasional studies produced in watercolours and pastels.  My landscapes are constructed over many layers and in a subdued palette, as a means to describe shifts in the weather. While periodically creating works alla prima, most scapes are completed over the course of several weeks, as layers are provided the time to dry, emerge and be added to.

Producing scapes that exist in a state of augmentation and transformation, my paintings are often immersive and sensory renderings. I surrender to my intuitive responses and allow these reactions to guide my process to ensure my works are highly evocative in their nature, summoning sensations of curiosity and enlightenment.

Since 2021, my works have exhibited in regional Victoria and New South Wales along with metropolitan Melbourne and Sydney. Additionally, I’ve been a finalist in several Australian art competitions, winning categories in the Biblio Art Awards and at Art Red Hill.
