New Zealand born Dave Forsyth has always loved creating. After moving to Newcastle in NSW, Dave started noticing lots of wire around the beaches, and began picking it up and creating objects, such as a candleholder, from the wire. This began a passion that then led Dave to begin showing his creations at markets including Adamstown, Byron Bay, Bondi, and even the exclusive Rocks market in Sydney.
Dave operated a gallery in Bangalow for 6 months, where he used repurposed fencing wire, tin, broken glass, and recycled mirrors from all over NSW to create his artworks. After spending some time living in Queensland, he then moved to South Australia where he spent 2 years working for David Bromley, commissioning numerous creations for their Ki Ki gallery.
Dave now lives with his wife Maggie and their 2 dogs in central Victoria, and spends his time cleaning up the environment and giving new life to old and repurposed objects that he uses in his meticulously crafted artworks.
