Mitchell English is an Australian artist with a career spanning over thirty years – showing in Australia and overseas.
His work has been described as ‘surf art’ and has an undeniably Australian coastal aesthetic, transporting the viewer to the sand and the sea.
Mitchell works with both acrylics and oils, and in addition to painting he is also a ceramicist, having exhibited in the Museum of Contemporary Art (Sydney), the Object Gallery (Sydney), Orson and Blake (Sydney), Koksela (Sydney), Spence & Lyda (Sydney), Husk (Melbourne), and Empire (Perth).
An experienced gallerist, Mitch also owned and ran Butchers Hook Art Gallery in Paddington, Sydney for several years. He is now based in Noosa on the Sunshine Coast.
