Stacey Mrmacovski is a contemporary artist based in Melbourne/Wurundjeri. Inspired by the colours and lighting of the Australian landscape, her works are purely emotive with each piece one of a kind. Drawn from influences of both impressionism and expressionism, each stroke of paint, Stacey brings to life raw energy and emotion and through her process, attempts to make sense of the world which surrounds her.
There is a connection to land, whilst capturing a visceral place of internalised memory and emotion. Her brush strokes travel through fluid landscapes, both real and imagined, landing where raw emotion lives. A place where time stands still and touches you with the point of a pin.
After the birth of her son in 2013, Stacey Mrmacovski decided to be true to her calling and fulfil her lifelong dream of becoming a practising, full-time artist. Showcasing her art to the Melbourne public for the first time at the Camberwell Art Show in 2014, Stacey’s captivating pieces have created a strong following, with requests for her artwork Australia wide. Her original artworks hang in collections across Australia, Asia, Europe, Canada, New Zealand, UAE, and the USA.
“With my latest work, I am particularly inspired by memories and scenes from my own life amongst the landscapes that coloured fleeting moments of happiness, beauty, and harmony. Memories that I can’t get back, but I can revisit through paint. These landscapes are inspired by a fusion of places and memories and join together into one scene. Paint guides feeling, and I remind myself that I do not need to overthink, but rather connect, and as an artist my hope is that through my artwork, I can create more connection where the viewer can be guided to a place that resonates to them; a place, dream, or memory where they too can revisit, anytime they choose.”
