Biography:

Ken was born in Mornington Victoria in 1947, and has since lived and worked on his farm in Baxter. Ken is self taught and has been carving figurative wood sculptures up to six tonne in weight, for the past twenty one years.

His work is represented in many private collections throughout Australia and New Zealand and America. To name a few there are small and large permanent exhibits at The Arthurs Seat Maze, the Greek Orthodox church in Red Hill and Manyung Gallery on the Mornington Peninsula, Dame Elizabeth Murdoch’s Cruden Farm Estate in Langwarrin, Waterways Estate, Springvale, Main Street Victorian country town Poowong, and also overseas in the “Arts Unique” gallery of creative experience in the Abel Tasman National Park, Motueka, Southern New Zealand.

Over the years he has received various awards at exhibitions and his work has featured in many newspapers and magazines and on several television garden feature programmes.

In the last five years, in addition to wood carving, Ken has been working on a series of maquette’s for large scale steel sculpture’s, one on display at Cruden Farm Victoria. And more recently Ken displayed an interest in bronze figurines, he completed relevant courses and has been exhibiting bronze and wood art works locally on the Mornington Peninsula. A bronze bust of Dame Elizabeth Murdoch is featured at the Elizabeth Murdoch College in Langwarrin Victoria.

Ken is a local art identity on the Mornington Peninsula generally only completing works by request and on commission.
