Statement:

ODYSSEY SERIES - 2019

This body of work was created in response to my bright dynamic exploration of abstracted nature. Aiming to have a sense of recognition or engagement.

Experimentation is pivotal to my practice, with a variety of approaches from loose gestural broad marks to precise linear, graphic work.  This work has flourished and has evolved as it was created.  With each new work I tried to change my palette and explore the patterns and contours layering in both a literal and metaphorical sense.

The multiple layers of colour echo a residue that is ephemeral and helps to enhance the transitory narrative.    The patterning strives to vocalise the essence of place, to give it a sense of recognition without definitive situation. Movement and light is pivotal to my intention.

I am embracing the theme of ‘Odyssey’ and will continue to see where this takes my practice.
