Sarah Thomas

Sarah Thomas Biography

Born in Melbourne, Australia,  Sarah Thomas has always pursued her interest in the arts - classical and other forms of dance, music, painting and drawing, languages, geography and physical education.  After gaining a Bachelor of Arts and Diplomas of Teaching and Teaching English as a Second Language she spent a number of years teaching in Australia and then overseas where she could combine her work with a love of travel.

After marrying and settling in Sunshine Beach, Noosa, Queensland with its tropical, beachside lifestyle, Sarah wanted to remain at home with her young children and revisited painting - the garage became a studio. That was in 2000 and she has not looked back. She now paints full-time in a beautiful studio at home.

In Sarah’s artwork the viewer finds the contemporary, fun and leisurely lifestyle of beautiful Noosa, Sunshine Coast, Queensland. The human form is her inspiration - dancers, swimmers, singers, musicians; people enjoying themselves are indeed her subjects.

The artist only uses high quality acrylic paints and she enjoys exploring mixed media such as papers, beach sand, rice and fishing line. Her use of vibrant colour, swirling textures and balanced composition all add to the overall feeling of fun and whimsy.
